Snowy Mountain Engineering Corporation (SMEC) LTD is an international engineering firm from Australia and a leading global provider of comprehensive consulting and project management services and solutions relating to projects and programs.
SMEC International Pty Ltd Consultants implements numerous programmes/projects around the World and continually competes for new one. SMEC is therefore looking for the following staff for its future projects in Rwanda :
1. Soil Specialist
The expert shall have a University degree in Soil Science with at least seven (7) years’ experience in projects involving soils survey for planning and designing irrigated agriculture system. She / He will work closely with the Agronomist and the Irrigation Engineer and will be responsible for all soil survey, analysis, and preparation of recommendations.
2. Irrigation engineer
The expert shall hold University degree in Irrigation Engineering with at least seven (7) years of relevant experience, or shall be qualified in a relevant discipline and demonstrate, through at least ten (10) years of experience, the ability to execute the work to the required standard
3. Land Husbandry Expert
The person shall have a University degree in natural resources sciences and extensiveexperience in tropical agro-forestry and land husbandry of at least seven (7 years). The specialist shall be responsible for the land husbandry aspects.
4. Sociologist
The person recruited for this position shall have a University degree in rural sociology, socioeconomic or related discipline with not less than seven (7) years field experience. The Sociologist will be responsible for all socio-economic studies and analyses. The sociologist shall also have a considerable experience working with water user associations.
5. Economist
The expert employed for the study shall either hold a University degree in Economics and have at least seven (7) years of relevant experience, or shall be qualified in relevant discipline and demonstrate, through at least ten (10) years of experience, the ability to execute the work to the required standard.
6. Assistant Resident Engineer
BSc. or above degree in Civil Engineering or related fields, 5 years experience in construction works, at least 2 years in dam and irrigation projects. Knowledge of English and French will be an advantage
7. Materials Technician
BSc or above in Civil Engineering ir related fields, 3 years of experience in construction works. Knowledge of English and French will be an advantage
8. Senior Surveyor Diploma or above in Surveying, 5 years of experience in construction works, at least 2 years in dam and irrigation projects. Knowledge of English and French will be an advantage
